Tasting Notes

Year after year, wine professionals and enthusiasts alike await the Bordeaux drop anxiously. Like Christmas, there is a list involved and a lot of hope hanging on snagging the coveted new arrivals. Price points vary and so do quantities. For myself, I tend to snag a bit of everything as I find that the most helpful way to learn and understand the vintage best. I recommend this wine to anyone wanting to sip an approachable and more basic Bordeaux wine.

From the price point to the first sip, this Bordeaux is quite approachable and easy to drink. It may almost seem like it is teetering on the edge of being basic. Overall, it presents well and would be a great wine to have on hand. This wine is ready to drink now. A pleasant Bordeaux with a deep ruby colour. A nose of red cherry, blackberry, vanilla, spice and smoke. This wine has a fuller body, higher acidity and tannin. Notes of dark fruit, berries, dark chocolate, spice and tobacco leaf with a long finish. This wine did improve with some time to breathe – would recommend decanting it. Would pair well with red meat or game.
