Tasting Notes

Since 1452, Weingut Stadt Krems has flourished at the centre of Krems an der Donau touting a one of a kind expression of Austrian wine culture. Weingut Stadt Krems is one of the oldest wine estates in the world, cultivating some of the finest vineyards site Austria has to offer. Boasting 43 hectares under vine, all located within the city limits of Krems. Schreck, Wachtberg and Grillenparz are all historically significant appellations that contribute to the wines they bottle each year. The main focus is Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.

An interesting hue of light yellow-green with silver reflections. A seemingly closed nose initially but opens up to burnt sugar, green apple, lemon and grapefruit. One a second visit, aromas of kiwi, stone and white pepper. Light body with minerality, vibrant acidity and round on the palate. Mango, nectarine, apricot and lime on the palate. Each sip has good dimension to it. Light footed and crisp structure make this an ideal Grüner Veltliner. A fabulous summer sipper. Pair with melon and prosciutto.
